Gas Safety in Laboratory Environments

Our choice of Laboratory Gases Safety Awareness Workshops give participants a firm understanding of the key safety issues associated with the handling, storage and use of cylinder gases within laboratories and other similar environments.

The workshops develop risk awareness through the identification of hazards found in everyday situations and participants will learn about the gas safety issues relative to their specific roles, together with the steps required to maintain safe working conditions.

An understanding of hazards and the ability to assess risks within laboratories and other similar environments is vital in today’s Health and Safety conscious workplace, these workshops help to develop these critical skills as well as helping staff to improve their knowledge and awareness of the compressed gases used within their particular working environment.

Lab-inc-Piped-Systems

Laboratory Gases (Including Piped Systems)

This 4 hour workshop is designed for anyone who uses, handles or stores cylinder gases in a laboratory or other similar environment, it is also highly recommended for Managers and Supervisors who are responsible for the safe use of gases. The workshop includes information relating to piped / manifold systems that utilise individual cylinders, multiple cylinders or MCP’s (Manifold Cylinder Pallets).
It can form the foundation for a associated practical training workshop, or be run in isolation.

Lab-inc-Piped-Systems

Laboratory Gases (Excluding Piped Systems)

This 3½ hour workshop is designed for anyone who uses, handles or stores cylinder gases in a laboratory or other similar environment, it is also highly recommended for Managers and Supervisors who are responsible for the safe use of gases.

It can form the foundation for a associated practical training workshop, or be run in isolation.

Combined-Lab-and-Cryo

Combined Laboratory & Cryogenic Gases

This workshop is tailored to your needs to provide safety awareness for all personnel who use, handle or store compressed cylinder gases and cryogenic liquids. The workshop can include information on piped systems if required
It can form the foundation for either one, or both, of its associated practical training workshops, or be run in isolation.

Connecting Regulators and Cylinder Set-up Practical

This 2 hour workshop gives participants the opportunity to practice the safe set-up and leak test of gas cylinders in a practical environment.
It can only be attended by delegates who have completed Safety Awareness Training; it cannot be run in isolation.

Liquid Nitrogen Decanting

This 2 hour Instructor-led workshop provides practical instruction on the correct decanting of liquid nitrogen from a pressure vessel or working flask

Safe Manual Handling of Cylinder Gases

Many staff do not use compressed gases themselves, but have responsibilities for their storage and movement around site. They should therefore appreciate the hazards of the cylinders they are dealing with and know how to move them in a safe manner.
This workshop contains both theory and practical elements and provides all the essential safety information that staff require to ensure that cylinders are dealt with safely.
